COMMENTThe Russell 3000 Index lists the 3000 largest companies (almost all the companies whose shares are traded in the USA); this index is subdivided into two, the Russell 1000 Index lists the 1000 largest companies in the 3000 Index, and the Russell 2000 Index lists the remainder. There are other indices.
