low exercise price option (LEPO)
Definition
The option for investors to purchase shares at 1 cent with the agreement that 1000 shares will be purchased. Originally started in Switzerland, a LEPO works similar to a futures contact and makes it possible for an investor to access most features of owning a share with the exclusion of voting rights and dividends.
