Definition

A rare type of municipal bond that is subject to taxation if various conditions apply such as if the funds raised were used for mortgages on homes. These types of bonds are typically issued by state or local governments, cities and other municipalities. There is a select group of mortgage subsidy bonds and veterans' bonds that are not subject to taxation.
