Definition
Smallest amount of money that will be accepted for the purchase of specific investment vehicles. Depending on the security or fund in question, the minimum investment amount may be as low as $1 up to $1 million or more. Fund managers have greater control over certain aspects of the investments by controlling the minimum amount of money needed to invest.
