sinkable bond

Definition

A bond protected by a sinking fund, which ensures that principle and interest payments for that bond will be paid according to the bond agreement. The lesser degree of risk due to the use of the sinking fund allows sinking bond issuers to offer lower interest rates to potential bond holders.
