Institute For Supply Management (ISM)

Definition

An industry association for supply management professionals. The ISM produces two monthly supply management reports: the Manufacturing Report on Business and the Non-Manufacturing Report on Business. Both reports are viewed by economies and investors as important tools for predicting economic growth or contraction because the data on which they are based reflect business purchasing trends.
