Definition
Also known as the Dow Jones U.S. Index, this total market index is weighted by market capitalization, and includes the top 95% of companies in U.S. stock markets. The Dow Jones indexes for growth, value, small-cap, mid-cap, and large-cap stocks are developed using the Dow Jones U.S. Market Index as the stock universe.
