manufactured housing securities (MHS)

Definition

Securities, or loans, on homes constructed largely off-site before being moved to where they will be inhabited. This form of housing includes factory-built or prefabricated houses as well as mobile homes and modular homes. The financing of these dwellings may be different from that of traditional on-site homes (known as stick-built homes).
