Definition

An invoice provided by the seller of goods, stating the identities of the buying and selling parties, what is being sold, what total amount of money is to be exchanged, when the transaction takes place, and when the payment is due. In some contexts, such as customs inspections for exports, a commercial invoice must contain other information as well.
