Definition
A system for
trading
stocks
that
matches
a
buy
offer
directly
with a
sell
offer, rather than using a
market maker
. In a
market
maker
system,
buyers
and
sellers
deal
with an
intermediary
(the market maker). This
arrangement
provides greater
liquidity
than a matched
bargain
system.
