Medigap (supplemental insurance) policies
Definition
Health insurance policies that pay for costs not covered by Medicare Part A (hospital) and Part B (medical) insurance. Medigap insurance is voluntary and is purchased by individuals. Medicare does not pay the cost of a Medigap policy.
