Definition

A tax exclusion offered by the United States Internal Revenue Service to U.S. citizens who reside in a foreign country or are outside of the U.S. for 330 days out of any 12 month period. The exclusion is available only to individual taxpayers, and applies only to income earned for services completed outside the borders of the United States.
