Qatar Investment Authority (QIA)
Definition
A sovereign wealth fund that invests surpluses from Qatar's oil and natural gas revenues. Its purpose is to minimize risk from price fluctuations by investing outside the energy sector and diversifying into new asset classes. It can invest globally as well as locally.
