residual dividend

Definition

A dividend that is paid out to a company's shareholders after all of the current accounting period's necessary cash expenditures are accounted for. The value of the residual dividend is equal to the company's leftover equity after the necessary expenses are calculated, divided the by the total number of dividends to be paid.
