Big Six banks

Definition

The six largest banks in Canada: Royal Bank, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, The Bank of Montreal, The Bank of Nova Scotia, TD Canada Trust, and National Bank of Canada. Some industry professionals do not recognize the National Bank of Canada as a "big" bank, thereby preferring to use the term Big Five Banks.
