Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF)

Definition

A non-profit organization which insures Canadian investors in the event of a securities broker-dealer bankruptcy. The CIPF will compensate account holders up to C$1,000,000 in the event a broker-dealer cannot execute an order due to a bankruptcy filing.
