Government-Sponsored Retirement Arrangement (GSRA)

Definition

A type of retirement plan sponsored by the Canadian government. It provides for payment of retirement benefits to individuals who are not employees of a government agency, but who are paid with public funds for services rendered. A government-sponsored retirement arrangement is not a tax deferred plan.
