Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA)
Definition
A government-owned authority established in 1982 by the State of Kuwait. Its responsibility is to oversee, invest, and administer the funds entrusted to it by Kuwait's Minister of Finance. KIA seeks to "achieve long-term investment returns" and to provide "an alternative to oil reserves" for future generations.
