Definition

A practice for simplifying a company's shareholder records by consolidating shares from small shareholders to larger interests such as institutional clients. An odd-lot resale requires the company to purchase shares from odd-lot shareholders, then repackage and resell them in larger lots to institutional investors and other large-quantity shareholders.
