odd-lot short-sale ratio
Definition
The ratio of odd-lot short sales, or short sales of less than one hundred shares, compared to the overall number of shares of a company's stock that are sold short. Since odd-lot short-sellers tend to be smaller investors and not as well informed, a high odd-lot short-sale ratio may indicate that the stock price is about to rise.
