portfolio internal rate of return

The interest rate level at which the combined value of the cash flows of all bonds in a portfolio is equal to the market value of the portfolio. Identifying the portfolio internal rate of return allows a potential investor to determine whether a portfolio is likely to be profitable, based on judgments of future interest rate changes.
