S&P/TSX Composite Index
Definition
A Canadian metric that follows a collection of the biggest companies, most notably oil and gas companies, listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The index is similar to the S&P 500 index in the U.S. Along with common stock listings, the exchange also trades income trust units.
