Uniform Prudent Investor Act (UPIA)

Definition

An act adopted in 1992 to update necessary changes in trust investment law. The act made five changes to the Prudent Investor Act standard. The most significant change is the ability to judge the standard based on the whole portfolio rather than singular investments. It also granted trustees the right to delegate management functions.
