Russell Microcap Index

Definition

A capitalization weight index that evaluates the performance of microcap segments of the US equity market. The Russell Microcap Index consists of the smallest 1000 companies within the Russell 2000 Index and the next 1000 smallest US-based stocks, deemed eligible by market cap. The index is reviewed annually to ensure that there are no large securities within it in order to continue to provide accurate information on small market capitalization segments.
