Shadow Open Market Committee (SOMC)
Definition
An independent committee setup in 1973 by Professor Karl Brunner and Professor Allan Meltzer with the aim of appraising policies made by Federal Reserve's Open Market Committee (FOMC). This includes monetary and fiscal policies like tax and international trade policies.
