structured yield product exchangeable for stock (STRYPES)


A type of convertible bond that pays a quarterly cash coupon and can be exchanged for a certain number of shares at maturity. STRYPES allow a company to raise capital without diluting share value. STRYPES were created and trademarked by Merrill Lynch.
