Definition
The direct and indirect cost of storing raw materials or finished goods including inventory management, facility costs, insurance, personnel, shrinkage, an opportunity costs. Expressed as a percentage of the inventory value which indicates the amount it costs to carry one dollar's worth of inventory for a 12 month period.
