Mutual fund shares of a class available to institutional investors. Institutional shares carry no load or 12b-1 fees. also called Y shares.

Another retail institutional shares class is the C-share. The C-share usually does not have a load, but often has a ïcontingent deferred sales chargeï (CDSC). When a broker sells a C-Share they get a sales commission, letïs say, for purposes of discussion the sales commission is 1%, and the investment has a CDSC of 1%.
