buyer's market

Definition

A market which has more sellers than buyers. Low prices result from this excess of supply over demand. also called soft market. opposite of seller's market.

Use buyer's market in a sentence

The housing market is a common example of a buyer's market, especially after the most recent crash where sellers had to work harder and buyers had the upper hand.
