fund administration

Definition

The activities and tasks required to run a mutual fund, hedge fund or other type of investment that pools resources. Examples of fund administration tasks include the preparation of financial statements, the calculation of fund performance, and the maintenance of the books. Fund administration is not the same as asset management.
