median market cap

When looking at the market cap for all companies in a mutual fund portfolio, the market cap which is the midpoint of the entire list. Once the median market cap has been calculated, you can see that one half of the capital is invested in stocks of companies with market cap higher than the fund's median market cap, the other half in stocks of the companies with market cap lower than the fund's median market cap.
