Borsa Italiana


Definition
Italy's main financial exchange based out of Milan. This exchange was established on January 16th, 1808 for the trading of stocks, bonds and derivatives. Borsa Italiana went private in 1997 but was bought out by the London Stock Exchange in 2007. Its main index, the Milan MIB 30, is a market capitalization-weighted index of Italy's top 30 companies.
