gyrations
Definition
Fluctuations (usually of prices) occurring (usually to a stock) around a point. Gyrations do not have a distinct pattern, unlike oscillations, and tend to be more spiral in nature. For example, a stock price may have gyrations going both up and down in a given time period but could move in a distinct, upward direction.
