Office of Financial Stability
Definition
OFS. Division under the U.S. Department of Treasury, the Office of Financial Stability was created in order to manage the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) and was created by the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. The OFS is led by the Assistant Secretary of Treasury, whose appointment by the President of the United States is ratified by the US Senate.
