contractual plan

Arranged agreement between an investor and a mutual fund where an individual agrees to invest fixed sums of money into a mutual fund over regular intervals to accumulate shares in the mutual fund. These sums of money are fixed regardless of how the mutual fund is performing. For example, an investor may agree to invest $100 every month, even when the markets are down.
