Farmer's Home Administration (FHA)
Former division of the Department of Agriculture that acts as the federal agency in charge of providing home financing options to individuals living or seeking to purchase property in low-income or rural areas. The main purpose of the agency was to give unqualified borrowers an alternative financing option. The agency was established in 1946 and later dismantled in 1994 after the creation of the Rural Development Administration.
