financial service authority (FSA)


Definition
Independent agency, similar to FINRA, that controls the financial service industry in the United Kingdom. This agency was created to essentially protect investors from unfair or unethical practices in the financial industry. The FSA posses a variety of regulatory powers delegated to the company under the Financial Services Act 1986.
