Definition
Agreement between a broker dealer and lending facility that governs the borrowing of funds for the purchase of securities. This type of agreement is open-ended and brokers are permitted to continuously borrow funds for day to day business transactions such as financing new issue underwriting, carrying inventory, or carrying customer margin accounts.
