Definition

A stock exchange where stocks, bonds, rights, warrants, and convertible bonds are traded. Based in Jakarta, Indonesia, its roots trace as far back as 1912 when Indonesia was under part of the Dutch colonial government. This exchange utilizes an open-auction system to place trades. Trading hours are broken into two sessions. The morning sessions last from 9:30am-12:00pm Monday-Thursday, and 9:30am-11:30am on Friday. Afternoon trading begins at 1:30pm-4:00pm Monday-Thursday, and 2:00pm-4:00pm Friday.
