Level I, II, III


Definition

The three different ranks of service provided by the NASDAQ to stock traders. In this hierarchy, the degree of information increases from I to II to III. Private investors generally have access to Level I quotes and may be able to access Level II through special licenses, but Level III quotes are available only to NASD member firms who are market makers.
