Maloney Act
Definition
Federal legislation signed into law in 1938 to provide brokers with the ability to self-regulate in the over-the-counter security market. The act provides certain incentives for companies that register and support self-regulation in the securities market. As of 2008, only one organization (National Association of Security Dealers) is registered under this act.
