New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX)


Definition
Commodities and futures exchange specializing in the trade of a variety of different oils, gases, and precious metals. NYMEX was created after the New York Mercantile Exchange and the Commodity Exchange merged together in 1994. The exchange is divided based on the type of commodity and trades are conducted using the open outcry technique.
