noncontestability clause

A provision in a life insurance policy that provides the insurance company with the ability to question any information disclosed on a life insurance application within a specific timeframe. After the predetermined grace period has lapsed, it will become harder for the insurance company to deny a claim made by a client on the grounds of inaccurate information included on the application.
