These forecasts typically factor in a variety of different variables that may affect the profitability of the company, such as current economic conditions and other important data. Some companies try to sway predictions by providing lots of data to show that the company is a good investment. The predictions issued by analysts are used by investors when deciding to purchase or sell shares of a specific company.
