Theory that suggests that the winner of the super bowl predicts the performance of the stock market for the rest of the year. The theory believes that if the winning team is from the AFC division, the stock market will decline, but if the team is from the NFC division, the stock market will advance. Although this is just a superstition, the theory has been accurate about 80% of the time.
