Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation (TSEC)
Definition
Stock exchange located in Taipei, Taiwan. The exchange was founded in 1961, and originally traded through an open outcry system, but changed to a computerized system in the early 1990s. The primary index which tracks performance of the TSEC is the Taiwan Stock Exchange Capitalization Weighted Stock Index, which is a similar index to the S&P 500.
