value broker

Definition

A broker that bases his or her rates off the dollar value associated with each transactions. These brokers can be beneficial to investors seeking to minimize commission costs especially if an investor is interested in trading a small amount of shares or low priced shares. Both of these options typically would not have a high dollar value, thus lowering the rate that the broker is able to charge the investor.
