John Bogle
Definition
Founder and former CEO of The Vanguard Group. He is credited with starting some of the first bond funds in 1970 at Wellington Management Company, which was his first employer after college graduation. He has authored a number of books on various investment subjects and was recognized by TIME magazine in 2004 as one of the most powerful and influential people. Mr. Bogle is an advocate of index funds over traditional actively-managed mutual funds.
