Why not Using the Dow Jones Industrial Average Makes Sense

The widely reported Dow Jones Industrial Average is not an accurate measure of the market and is so widely reported only because of branding, distribution, and inertia. It includes a small number of stocks which are not representative of the overall market, and strong companies tend to get added to it and weak companies removed.
