We are balanced on a knife's edge between exponential value creation caused by technological advancement on the one hand, and utter destruction on the other. The edge will get even thinner in the future, and so there will be increasingly large booms and busts, which means more opportunities for savvy investors to make money and more opportunities for unsavvy investors to lose money.
